What is Haj

The religious practice of Islam, Muslims observe the Five Pillars of Islam in order to live a good and responsible life. Haj is one of the pillars and it requires able Muslims to perform the annual pilgrimage in Mecca at least once in their lifetime.

Able Muslims include those who have the financial and physical means to do so, provided the journey to Mecca is safe for them.

Haj takes place over 5 – 6 days. In Singapore, the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS)

Eligibility

To be eligible for Haj

  • Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Age at least 18 years of age.
  • If  below 18 years old, one of your parents or legal guardians must apply for Haj together with you
  • Married or single females below 40 years old at the time of registration must apply for Haj together with a male consort.
  • Married female, your male consort would be your husband
  • Single female your male consort would start from your father.

  • Administration fee of $256.80 per application.
  • Log in with Singpass for registration

  • The average price of a Hajj package in Singapore was S$11,500.

Haj Quota for Singapore

  • Haj is the fifth pillar of Islam.
  • Singapore’s Haj quota has been restored to 900 places.
  • There is no age restriction for this year’s haj as set by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Muis will be allocating the 900 places for Haj 2023 to existing registrants in the queue in the Muis Advance Haj Registration system (AHRS) able to meet the conditions and requirements for Haj 2023.
  • To perform the annual Haj pilgrimage in Mecca at least once in their lifetime if they have the means and the journey is safe for them.
  • As at 2023, Singapore’s official Haj quota is 900, based on 0.1% of our Muslim population.

Mode of payment accepted in MyHajSG

  • MyHajSG in an online portal, only accept payment via credit/debit card, PayNow.
  • No cash payment will be accepted.
