Gardens by the Bay’s signature year-end yuletide display, Poinsettia Wishes – A Nordic Christmas Adventure, returns this year to bring visitors on a voyage to a Viking-inspired wintry wonderland.
The poinsettia, is native to Mexico and known as Flor de Nochebuena in the country, common name for poinsettia as Christmas Eve flower. The “petals” of the poinsettia are in fact bracts, or modified leaves, and are usually flaming red, though they also come in white, cream, pink, pale green or are marbled.
