Free shuttle bus service in Singapore Marine Parade cluster residents

Singapore’s South East Community Development Council and People’s Association have announced Singapore’s first cluster-wide community shuttle bus service, covering seven routes to amenities like polyclinics, hawker centres, and MRT stations.

Marine Parade Member of Parliament Edwin Tong said that some residents have shared  in Facebook post that they are finding it harder to close the distance to these key amenities. Plan routes to accommodate residents’ convenience while balancing resource efficiency and other road users’ needs, addressing distance issues to key amenities.

Shuttle bus service have six stops around Joo Chiat, noting that famous eateries like Beach Road Prawn Noodle House, located on East Coast Road, are along the way. Within the Marine Parade division, adding some of them are “within walking distance” of amenities, such as the two new MRT stations – Marine Parade and Marine Terrace – on Stage 4 of the Thomson-East Coast Line. Both stations were among seven stations that officially opened for passenger service on Jun 23. Visit to the nearest community club (CC), including Braddell Heights CC, Geylang Serai CC, Mountbatten CC, MacPherson CC and Marine Parade CC. Staff will be on hand to assist residents intending to sign up for the service.

How to Register for the Marine Parade Free Shuttle Bus Service?

Marine Parade GRC, MacPherson SMC and Mountbatten SMC residents can register for shuttle bus service through Google Play / Apple’s App Store. At the point Boarding show the barcode to the bus driver for identification purposes. WeCare card will issued to residents for identification purposes. The app shows the live location of the buses as residents wait to be picked up. Data on ridership will be collected to enable the agencies involved to review the service.
