Cycling Paths Connecting Choa Chu Kang and Yew Tee Towns
Mr Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Trade and Industry and Grassroots Adviser to Chua Chu Kang GRC GROs had launched the cycling paths between Choa Chu Kang-Yew Tee. Active commuters can now cycle to amenities in towns like Bukit Panjang, have seamless connection of cycling path networks across the towns.

LTA aims to expand Islandwide cycling paths to 1,300km by 2030. All HDB towns and estates will have some cycling paths in their towns by the end of this year.

Pedestrian-only path markings will progressively applied to the 8km of footpaths which are alongside dedicated cycling paths.

To improve safety and the cycling experience, LTA has widened 22 pedestrian crossings and implemented three new bicycle crossings in Choa Chu Kang and Yew Tee. Bus stops in the vicinity were also upgraded for cyclists to ride behind the bus stops for the safety of all path users.

Choa Chu Kang were constructed using low carbon concrete. Creating space for cycling paths in a built-up mature town is a challenge. LTA worked with schools to adjust their boundary so that the paths outside the school compounds can be widened.
