Indonesia had launched a new visa-free entry policy for those holding Singapore permanent residency (PR). To boost tourism and investment in the regional economic zones, specifically in the Riau Islands, a popular destination in proximity to Singapore. On October 8, Director General of Immigration Silmy Karim said that under this policy visitors may stay in the designated areas. Indonesia, South-east Asia’s largest economy, has introduced various initiatives, such as “second home” and golden visas for wealthy global citizens and foreign investors.
