What is VEP/Autopass Card?
- Every foreign car entering Singapore needs to have a current Autopass Card and an email from LTA approving it. The Autopass Card is used to record your vehicle’s entry into Singapore and to pay all entry and exit costs when you drive your vehicle out of Singapore. It functions as an electronic Vehicle Entry Permit for foreign cars and motorcycles.
- For all foreign automobiles entering Singapore, there is a stored-value card called the Autopass Card. It is used to pay for all vehicle-related fees and tolls and doubles as an electronic vehicle entry permit for motorbikes and foreign automobiles.
- It is an offense to use an Autopass Card of another vehicle.
- Autopass card is used to pay VEP (Vehicle Entry Permit) fees and ERP (Electronic Road Pricing) Charges / Toll charges and car parking charges
How to buy / purchase an Autopass Card?
Depending on the kind of vehicle you drive, there are various ways to apply for an Autopass Card.
- An Autopass Card costs $10, includes $4 in pre-loaded cash value, and has a $6 non-refundable card fee.
1. Motorists driving cars or riding motorcycles registered in Malaysia and Thailand can apply and pay online for an Autopass Card before driving into Singapore.
Requirements
- Identity card or passport
- Your employment or immigration pass card
- Car’s registration document. If it’s not in English, a translation into English is required.
- a current certificate of insurance for a vehicle (with third-party coverage). You must have motor insurance from a Singapore-based insurance carrier to cover the usage of your vehicle while it is in Singapore for international automobiles that are not registered in Malaysia. The insurance is available from MS First Capital Limited.
- Your given email address will receive an email letting you know how your application is progressing. Using your application reference number, vehicle registration number, identity card, or passport number, you may also check the status of your application online.
- After receiving LTA’s approval email for your online application, you may collect your Autopass Card.

Where to use an Autopass Card?
Insert your Autopass Card into the reader at the immigration booth to record your arrival and leave and to pay the necessary fees and levies when traveling through the Tuas or Woodlands Checkpoints to enter or exit Singapore.
In addition to paying admission and departure fees and charges, your Autopass Card can be used for the following things:
- Payment for rides on public buses, MRT & LRT
- Payment at car parks with CEPAS logo
- Payment for ERP
- Payment at selected retail outlets

How to top up Autopass Card?
A maximum of $500 can be added to your Autopass Card. You can do in the following ways:

- NETS Self-Service Stations
- NETS Top-Up Machines located at selected car parks

Your CEPAS Autopass Card’s expiration date can be found via:
- NETS App

- Add Value Machines Plus (AVM+)

How to check Autopass Card Balance and Transaction History?
- At any NETS Self-Service Station, NETS Top-Up Machine, or NETS App, you can check the card balance on your CEPAS Autopass Card.
Your CEPAS Autopass Card’s transaction history can be viewed or printed using:
- NETS App (up to the last 30 transactions)
- NETS Top-Up Machines (up to the last 25 transactions)
- NETS Self-Service Stations
- NETS Customers Service Centre
- Singapore Bank ATMs (DBS/POSB/OCBC/UOB) (up to the last 10 transactions)
How to get a refund for unused value on the Autopass Card?
When driving the car out of Singapore, you can request a refund for the unused value on your Autopass Card by submitting a refund application form and your Autopass Card to LTA’s office at the Tuas or Woodlands Checkpoint.
There are two options for getting your cash balance refunded:
- A cheque is to be mailed to your provided address
- Direct credit into a bank account in Singapore
- Send the completed refund application form, your Autopass Card, and any necessary supporting documentation via registered mail to LTA’s Customer Service Center at 10 Sin Ming Drive, Singapore 575701.
How to report the loss of the Autopass card?
- Make a report at any police station in Singapore or Malaysia if your Autopass Card is stolen or lost there.
- You must notify LTA that your Autopass Card has been lost, along with the details of your police investigation and car.
- For your report to be processed more quickly, please choose the “Vehicle Matters” category and the “Autopass, Vehicle Entry Permits and Tolls” subcategory.
- When leaving Singapore at the Tuas or Woodlands Checkpoints, present the police report to the office at the LTA’s VEP/Toll office for assistance if you lost your card there.

- Each Autopass Card is encoded with particulars of the vehicle it is issued
