How to Adopt a Dog in Singapore?

Procedure to adopt a dog in Singapore

Owning an animal is a huge responsibility that must be carefully considered. Being a responsible pet owner entails attending to all of the animal’s daily needs, lavishing them with love, affection, and attention, and ensuring that they receive competent veterinarian care when they become ill.

  • If you are interested in a certain dog, simply click on their profile and fill out the form.
  • Alternatively, come to our Singapore shelter on one of our twice-monthly shelter tours and meet all of the adorable pups who are just waiting to be adopted.
  • You will be required to fill out application paperwork and go through screening as part of the pre-adoption procedure. The AWG may conduct a house inspection to check the dog’s living conditions in the future.

What are the requirements?

  • This is the time for you and your dog to get to know each other. Take this time to study your dog’s needs and to determine whether its temperament is appropriate for your home environment, which includes members of your family.
  • An SOSD Rehomer will need to visit your home.
  • All adopters must pay a $300 non-refundable adoption fee. This will pay for microchipping, three vaccinations, sterilization, and administration.
  • If your puppy is under 6 months old, you will be given a sterilization voucher to use at any of our pre-approved veterinary clinics when it is ready.

What is the cost?

  • Depending on their breed, age, health condition, and length of stay at the adoption shelter, adoption fees range from $25 to $250.
