From 5 November 2019, Electric Scooters (E-scooters) E Scooter can be ridden on cycling path in Singapore and cannot be ridden on footpaths and roads which is strictly prohibited in Singapore
- E Scooters will be registered with LTA in person
- Affix your Registration and Identification Marks properly in the front of the E-scooter stem
- E Scooter can be ridden on Parks and Park Connector Networks (PCNs)
- All the PMD e – scooter must be UL2272 certified.
What is the penalty of driving e scooter on footpaths / pedestrian and roads in Singapore?
Those who riding e scooter / electric scooter in prohibited places will get the penalty of $2,000 and/or face imprisonment of up to 3 months, if convicted.
UL2272 certified Personal Mobility Devices (PMDs)
- From the year July 2020, only UL2272 certified motorised PMDs are allowed for use on cycling paths.
- Non-UL2272 certified e-scooters that have been registered with LTA have been automatically deregistered.
How to send inspection and registration for e-scooter(s)?
All E Scooters must be inspected every 2 years
The periodic inspection (PI) costs $30 (before GST) at STA Inspection centres and $28 (before GST) at JIC Inspection Services/VICOM, and will be paid for by owners. Owners will receive a notice from LTA informing them to bring their e-scooters for inspection at any of the 9 E-scooter Inspection Centres (EICs). Inspection penalty those who do not send for inspection: $1,000 and/or jailed up to 3 months, if convicted.

How to fabricate Identification Mark on E scooter in Singapore?
Once you have successfully registered your e scooter in Singapore, you need to affix the identification Marks with the Registration number assigned by LTA properly in the front of the E-scooter stem with in 3 calendar days from the date of the registration.
