Procedure to apply for a New Passport in Singapore?
- Submit an online application.
- Apply in-person at our office strictly by appointment only; book an appointment here
- Apply in the post.
Online application
- You can do so at ICA’s website using your SingPass.
- Fill the form
In-person application / Application via post
- You can mail your passport application or in person at our office. Application for a passport in person must be made exclusively via appointment. Here, you can make an appointment.
- The documents required are the same for both modes of application.
- By sending a request for an application form along with a self-addressed, stamped mail to the Consular Section, Singapore High Commission, London, UK.

- Completed passport application form: Obtain the form from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website or from any ICA office. Fill it out accurately and sign it.
- Current passport (if applicable): If you already have one, bring it along, as it may be required for cancellation.
- Passport-sized photograph: Provide one recent passport-sized color photograph that meets the ICA’s guidelines. The photograph should have a white background, and your face should be clearly visible.
- Proof of identity: Singapore citizens should provide their National Registration Identity Card (NRIC), while Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) should provide their PR Card.
- 2 photocopies of current passport (biodata page)
- 2 photocopies of Identity Card (front and back) OR Birth Certificate OR Citizenship Certificate (if applicant is a citizen by descent or registration)
- 2 recent photographs that meet the specifications stated in Page 2 (Note No. 5) of the Application Form – Photographs that do not meet the requirements will result in a delay in the processing of the passport application
- 2 photocopies of Marriage Certificate (for married female applicants who already have their married names included in their current passports and wish to continue including their married names in their new passports)
- 2 photocopies of valid Exit Permit/Notice of Exemption
Documents for Minor
- 2 photocopies of minor’s Passport
- 2 photocopies of minor’s full birth certificate (reflecting both parents’ particulars)
- 2 photocopies of minor’s citizenship certificate/NRIC (whichever applicable)
- 2 photocopies of minor’s valid exit permit (male children aged 13 to 21 only)
- 2 photocopies of parents’/legal guardian’s passport or NRIC
- 2 recent passport-sized colour photographs of minor
- Application Form for New Singapore Passport Submitted Abroad, duly filled out, signed, and date
All applicants must bring or post their photocopies – the photocopies must be of good quality and A4-size.
Processing Time
It will generally take 4-6 weeks
Passport fees
- S$70 fee is payable if you apply online, by post, or deposit box.
- A S$80 fee is payable for application submitted over counter at ICA building or at Singapore Overseas Mission.
What are the procedure if passport is lost/ damaged?
To pay the passport fee as stated above and the following non-refundable penalty fees for a replacement passport:
- S$50 for the first replacement
- S$100 for subsequent replacements
For online applications, payment can be made using either:
- Visa
- MasterCard credit/debit card
- American Express (AMEX) credit card
- Internet direct debit (DBS/POSB, OCBC, UOB and Standard Chartered Bank internet banking accounts in Singapore)
- PayNow
For applications by post or deposit box, payment can be made using either:
- Visa
- MasterCard credit/debit card
- American Express (AMEX) credit card
If you apply in person or via post, the following fees are applicable:
- New Passport / Renewal – GBP49.00
- Additionally, if your passport is Lost / Damaged Passport
- First replacement – GBP31.00
- Second and subsequent replacement – GBP62.00
Passport Validity
Singapore passports issued for citizens aged 16 and above are valid for 10 years.
Age below of 16, the passport validity is 5 years, the remaining validity from the previous passport, up to a maximum of 9 months, may be carried over to the renewed passport.
